Summer Heat

Heating and air conditioning are essentials for those of us who aren't lucky enough to live where the weather is perfect all year around - assuming such a place even exists! If a breakdown occurs during a hot summer day, it can be easy to panic. Luckily, there are ways of handling these predicaments.

If the AC Breaks Down, Try to Stay Calm and Cool!

Even on the hottest of days, there are always alternative ways of staying cool. For starters, try not to panic, and have a drink. Ice water can keep you hydrated in the heat. You can even use those ice cubes to cool the area around you by placing them in a bowl, in front of a fan. This can keep you from having too high a body temperature while you wait for help to arrive.

Don't forget to stay in the coolest room of your house, away from direct sunlight. You can also try putting ice on your pulse points - such as your wrist, your throat or the back of your knees - to cool your body temperature.
